Located in Richmond, Mountain Goat Beer has won a host of awards over the last ten years. Not bad for two boys who built the company from their backyard. After filling, capping and labelling two million beer bottles, there was some excitement (to say the least) when the first automated bottling line was introduced! Mountain Goast Beer craft their own distinctive type of beer, the Hightail Ale, Pale Ale and two seasonal favourites. In Winter, the Surefoot Stout makes a reappearance and in Summer, the organic IPA (India Pale Ale). Hightail Ale is characterised by the deep amber colour and rich malty body. Pale Ale is a closer match to Australian beers, with floral honey aromas and spicy hops bitterness. The Mountain Goat brewery is open to the public every firday evening at 5pm. If you would like to witness the brewing taking place, drop by on a Wednesday night from 6.30pm.
