myki Transport Card

myki Transport Card | | Melbourne

From 2013, Melbourne’s public transport ticketing system will be myki to be used for travel on trains, trams and buses. myki is a reusable smart card that users simply top up before a journey. It has touch on and touch off functions at a myki reader located at all train stations and on board trams and buses. International and interstate visitors are recommended to buy a myki Visitor Pack for travel on the public transport network with ease. The Visitor Pack contains a myki card with enough value for one day’s travel on the entire tram network, discounts to some Melbourne attractions, a map and instructions for use. To ‘top up’ a myki card, simply locate a myki machine (found in all train stations and at some tram stops), insert myki card and pay with cash/ EFTPOS / credit card to purchase more fares. It is really simple!
